Drawing on the idea of adornment as empowerment, I.V jewellery designs and handcrafts bespoke pieces of jewellery reflective of the beauty within the natural world. Each piece draws on the aesthetic of nature; the shape of hand picked seaweed, each cast only once. I.V jewellery signifies the importance of manual labour; each piece is lovingly crafted by hand at Anvil Studios Pt Chevalier, Auckland, meaning that each piece reflects its beholder; unique and hand made.
I.V jewellery remains dedicated to implied thought within its designs and exceeds the expectations of a traditional jewellery brand, ensuring each piece is completely reflective of the beliefs of the designer and maker, Ingrid van Heusden.
Influenced by natural landscapes, cultures, art and fashion Ingrid was passionate about design from a young age. The child of an Architect father and Fashion Designer mother, Ingrid’s childhood was one full of creativity. Exposed to the weird and wonderful culture of India in her twenties, where she absorbed customs, acquired skills and collected trinkets, Ingrid’s imagination and inspiration would be subconsciously provoked by these memories throughout her adult life.
With such ingenuity pulsing through her body, Ingrid attended Unitec, graduating from a Bachelor of Design and Visual Arts majoring in Contemporary Craft in 2011. Ever since, Ingrid has been creating bespoke jewellery for I.V Jewellery as well as having her jewellery and small object designs in numerous exhibitions and galleries.
I.V Jewellery acquires a significant occurrence in each of its pieces, and provides the beholder with a splinter of the aesthetic of the brand. Each piece is lovingly crafted with sustainability and upcycling in mind. Because of the nature of this product, please allow 10 – 14 days craft and shipping for Aotearoa and slightly longer for overseas.
